This high carbon steel shingling hatchet is built for roofers, contractors, framers, and the DIY inclined. It features a 3 position gauge for setting overhang/exposure at typical roof shingle reveal amounts of 4½", 5'' (standard), and 5⅝" for specialty shingles with a larger exposure amount. It has a milled striking face and a genuine hickory wood handle. The cutting edge for splits wood shakes/shingles, and can be used to trim roofing felt & asphalt shingles. There is a small notch in the blade for prying out nails if needed.
