Carving Caricature Heads & Faces (Schiffer Book for Woodcarvers)

The guidance you need to make your faces leap from the wood! Caricatures demand the same skill and sense of proportion that realistic figures do, and that's particularly true of carving heads, which can easily become grotesque looking if certain rules aren't followed. With his years of carving, expert carver Pete LeClair has developed a sure-fire method for carving outstanding caricature heads. Now he shares it, teaching you the key rules and taking you step by step through the process of carving 33 projects. Every step is illustrated with a color photo and precise caption. A gallery shows the variety that this carving approach can achieve. Enjoy meeting the challenge of outstanding carved faces and heads! Read more
